I had such a blast shooting the Color Me Rad 5k Run here in OKC. Here is a sneak peek. Go to the full album to see all the pics.
Decided to share a diptych today. This is an old burger place down the road from my 9-5. I never ate there, but heard it was not all that anyway. LOL. Today while out exploring for my 365 I realized the building was gone. I am sure the sign will be gone not too long from now as well so I wanted to capture how awesome it is. Love the ugly hand coming over the burger. 😛 I cannot find much about the place other than it was also called “Big Johnson’s Highway Grill”.
Tomorrow I am off to the Medieval Faire for some people watching with my friend Brian. I cannot wait!!!
10-01-11 Oklahoma City Regatta Festival 2011
I have been waiting “forever” to get to capture the guys/girls in their boats. Several times I have come over the river at sunset and they were out doing their training. I always wanted to stop and get a picture from the overpass. It seems that would have been my best bet. I did not realize how hard it was to get a good picture. Of course these guys are going at like 70 strokes per MINUTE too. And then I discovered even though I had my 75-300mm lens with me, the guys coming to the finish line were on the south side of the river and it was still hard to capture them. When I get the few “good ones” edited, I will post a link here…
Nonetheless it was a great day overall. I got to enjoy my day out, spend time with a great friend, and now I must get back up and prepare to do it all over again for World Photowalk here in Norman tomorrow. Cannot wait!!!
I always walk away from the photo shoots that Emily and I do feeling as if this one was the most fun. Today, though, I think this one totally topped all others. There is a walk over bridge above I-240 in Oklahoma City and I dreamt last night that did a shoot there. When I suggested it today, she was all for it. Sooo, off we ventured. At first we were both quite nervous. There was a bit of vibration in the bridge, and of course the highway is quite busy. Emily and I kept getting honk after honk. One was a big 18 wheeler that really scared the poop out of us. But afterwards we were busting up laughing. It was great! Here are some of the shots… To see more, visit my Flickr album. Also, we finally got internet so hopefully I can write more. I am still working on the unpacking of the studio and looking forward to getting back to work on some art. 🙂 In the meantime, Emily is an awesome muse, don’t you think.
