Not a 365 View Today

It is almost 5 am now and I have to be up for work in 2 hours. SIGH… My insomnia has been giving me hell the past few nights and so last night (Thursday), I came home, ate dinner, and was in bed by 7 thinking I could get some sleep.  I slept until 12:30 and then sat straight up in bed and have not been able to get back to sleep since.  ARGH!!!  So I thought I would share an older image since I didn’t shoot for my 365 today…One of my favorite places to go when I visit downtown OKC…

013/365 D is for D00R

and one of my favorite doors at that.  The first time I ever laid eyes on this door I was in love.   I know how silly that sounds but I love all the tones, the rust, the bars… sigh… I would love to take it home with me. But this is as close as I can get.  :-D

012/365 C is for cartouche

So this is really becoming more of an overall learning process for me. I have started looking up architecture (or is it architectural?) designs to see what I am going to look for for each letter… Today’s letter (yes just like on Sesame Street only the words are bigger… LOL) is the letter C.  Letter C is for cartouche. More about the cartouche here

Please leave your comments.  I would love to hear your feedback.  ♥

011/365 B is for Bricks & Blues

So I decided to have a little fun with the A is for architecture and do B is for bricks and blues today. This is one of those places that everytime I pass it I have to glimpse over and see if it is still there. :-) I love the contrasting colors.

010/365 A is for ARCHITECTURE

Today was Worldwide Photo Walk Day.  I took the Norman, OK walk with about 30 others. I had considered doing the OKC walk but I thought this would be a great opportunity for me to really discover Norman since I just moved to the area. Although I lived just down the road for 10 years in Moore, it was still a delight to discover all of the amazing architecture here in Norman. This is probably one of my faves from the day.  Although I did not finish the whole route, I will definitely be visiting more of the historic district.

009/365 OKC Regatta Festival

10-01-11 Oklahoma City Regatta Festival  2011

I have been waiting “forever” to get to capture the guys/girls in their boats. Several times I have come over the river at sunset and they were out doing their training. I always wanted to stop and get a picture from the overpass.  It seems that would have been my best bet.  I did not realize how hard it was to get a good picture.  Of course these guys are going at like 70 strokes per MINUTE too.  And then I discovered  even though I had my 75-300mm lens with me, the guys coming to the finish line were on the south side of the river and it was still hard to capture them. When I get the few “good ones” edited, I will post a link here…

Nonetheless it was a great day overall.  I got to enjoy my day out, spend time with a great friend, and now I must get back up and prepare to do it all over again for World Photowalk here in Norman tomorrow.  Cannot wait!!!
